I visited the Bay Area in early April 2010 to meet my girlfriend's parents and see where she grew up. One of the first places she took me was Pescadero and to the Arcangeli Grocery.

All I can say is that having lived all around the world and sampled breads from fantastic markets and village bakeries in Italy, England, South East Asia and France, this is the greatest bread I have ever eaten and probably ever will eat.

Nothing in the world can prepare you for the buttery, artichoke wonderfulness which is nestled in the soft folds of this bread. You can finish an entire loaf on your own before you even get to the beach (which is only a short 5 minute drive away).

How good is this bread? I actually tracked down this website, went through the hassle of registering and then wrote this review just to tell a random stranger who clicks through to here, how insanely good it is.
